[CFP Book] The Arts as White Property: Interrogating Racism within Arts in Education

This book mobilizes the conceptual tools of Critical Race Theory to examine how whiteness and white supremacy manifest, and are legitimated, through discourses, visual representations, and practices of the arts in education. This work explores wide-ranging questions about the arts as white property while maintaining a focus on the ways in which white identity and the racial frames of whiteness take hold and contribute to inequality.

5th IAACS Triennial Conference – Looking for Hotel Accommodations?

May is a busy month in the city of Ottawa. With Ottawa race weekend scheduled for May 23-24, an international security conference in town May 27-28, and Congress, Canada’s annual conference of humanities and social sciences beginning on May 30, the city will be abuzz with energy and excitement. Given all of the activity in the city, we cannot stress enough the importance of booking hotels early in order to ensure that accommodations are secured at the best rate possible.

[CFP to Host] 2018 IAACS Triennial Conference

We would like to issue a Call for Proposals to host the 2018 Triennial Conference of IAACS. The next designated meeting area is Asia. However, we also are opening this call to Oceania.

Proposal Considerations: It is important to note that IAACS can offer no financial support for the Conference. Therefore, the host is responsible for calling for and managing registration fees as well as procuring other supporting funds. We wish to receive the proposals by May 1st, 2015. The proposals will be taken up and the decision made in the open General Assembly Meeting of the Ottawa Conference.
