The Fifth CESI International Conference: Education, Politics and Social Change is co-hosted by Gargi College, Institute of Home Economics, and Regional Resource Centre for Elementary Education (RRCEE), University of Delhi, India from November 16-18, 2014.
Given the complex web of education within the wider structures of society, it also stands as an entity through which larger societal concerns and changes can be examined. CESI 2014 invites theoretical and empirical papers that wish to explore the relationship of education with politics and social change. For concept note, please click here.
Extended abstracts are invited for the Conference theme ‘Education, Politics and Social Change’. The concept note for the Conference and the sub-themes are suggestive of the kind of topics that may be chosen to be presented at the Conference. An extended abstract is around 1500 words and should aim to give a detailed idea of the themes that will finally comprise the body of the full paper. The title of the abstract must be concise and be able to clearly identify the nature of study that has been undertaken. The language of the abstract should be crisp and there should be no unnecessary repetition of ideas. The empirical research based abstracts must provide a clear idea of the key theoretical concepts, methodology and the main research findings. The papers should be original. The extended abstracts will be peer reviewed and those individuals whose abstracts are accepted will be invited to submit the full paper.
The abstracts must be saved as a word file (in the .doc format) with the full name of the first author; authors submitting abstracts in Hindi should save it as a pdf file (.pdf) with the full name of the first author. The abstract must be typed in Times New Roman Font, with size of 12 points and 1.5 line spacing. The abstracts must give the following information: (i) Title of the paper; ii) Author name(s); (iii) Institutional affiliation and designation.
We also invite proposals for organizing panel discussions on sub-themes that are inconsonance with the Conference theme as laid out in the concept note. The theme of the Panel Discussion, the names of speakers (maximum-4), their institutional affiliation and extended abstracts of each of the proposed papers will need to be submitted.
